Costa Rica – San Juanillo, Natural Process Coffee

This is the first coffee from Costa Rica for this harvest. Costa Rica is high on our list of coffee producing countries. Here you can find everything from beautiful and fruity naturally processed coffees, to delicate honey processed, and even a few small farms creating some wonderful washed coffee.

San Juanillo is a 12 hectare, Rainforest Alliance certified farm. The farm was originally planted with Caturra and Catuai trees. The owners have now added Marsallesa, H1 Centroamericano, and even Geisha varietals.

This harvest, we’ve bought  two coffees, both from the Marsallesa varietal; this one is a naturally processed coffee (we also have some honey processed too). It’s amazing to taste the difference made by the different preparation processes.
